Sugarcane Organic Decaf
Naturally Decaffeinated · Organic Coffee
Sometimes you want all the good stuff—without the caffeine.
Our Sugarcane Organic Decaf is made for exactly that. A naturally decaffeinated coffee designed to keep the sweetness, body and character you love in coffee, while taking the caffeine out of the equation.
🌱 Naturally Decaffeinated
Despite the name, there’s no sugar added to the coffee.
The name “Sugarcane Decaf” comes from the use of ethyl acetate (EA), a naturally occurring compound that can be derived from molasses, a by-product of sugar production. Because EA occurs naturally, this method is often described as naturally decaffeinated.
The result is a decaf that feels much more like coffee—not something that has simply had its caffeine removed.
🍬 How It Works
The process is surprisingly simple.
Green coffee beans are first moistened with water, allowing the beans to open up and making the caffeine easier to extract. The naturally derived EA is then circulated through the coffee, where it bonds with the caffeine and draws it out while leaving most of the coffee's flavour compounds behind.
Once the desired caffeine level is reached, the beans are steamed to remove the remaining EA before being dried and prepared for roasting.
In other words: remove the caffeine, keep the coffee.
☕ In the Cup
Expect a comforting, easy-drinking profile with soft chocolate, caramel sweetness, gentle citrus and toasted nut character, supported by a smooth, syrupy body.
There's enough sweetness and structure to make it satisfying black, while its rounded body makes it equally at home with milk.
And because the EA process is designed to preserve much of the coffee's original flavour, you can still enjoy the sweetness, aroma and texture that make a good cup of coffee worth coming back to.
🌙 Why We Love It
At Society Coffee Roasters, we don't think decaf should mean compromising on the experience.
Whether it's your after-dinner coffee, late-night brew, second cup, or simply a day when you want to slow things down, Sugarcane Organic Decaf gives you the freedom to enjoy coffee on your terms.
All the comfort of coffee. None of the caffeine fuss.
